Do you have family materials in your possession that you’d love to share with other people? From photographs to quilts, wedding dresses to Kiddush cups, family heirlooms have unique stories just waiting to be told. Bring them to this event and have a brag session about its story and connection to you! Each person who brings an item will have a short allotted time to briefly tell us about their item and what it means to them. We will also have time to mingle and discuss items more with those who are interested.

Though sponsored by the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives, we are not asking you to part from your items or donate them to the archives. Rather, there will be time to hear from archivist Kate Dietrick on how to care and preserve these materials in your own home. You’ll learn briefly on how to store items, common damage issues, and how to pass on your materials to the next generation.

Sponsored by the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest and the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives at the University of Minnesota
